Getting Started is easy!
Everyone can climb, young, old, fit, not so fit perhaps?. It's a great way to an all round work-out and you get to enjoy the thrill of climbing.
Never climbed before? Not a problem, we can take you from your first step off the ground through to climbing on real rock.
How do I get started
Well for most people we would recommend one of our beginner courses as the ideal way to start. Beginners runs over two days, usually at the weekend, and the Beginners Plus runs at a slower pace over three sessions on weekday evenings. We will teach you how to belay your partner and safely lower them on a top roped climb. You will be shown and taught how to use the different types of equipment available and made aware of all the safety issues surrounding use of an indoor wall. And of course you will get to do lots of climbing and meet other people also just starting out.
Still not sure? Well we also run Taster sessions which enable you to get on the wall immediately. You are advised to pre-book with a centre to avoid disappointment as these sessions are very popular. These one hour sessions provide a introduction to the thrill of climbing. You will be with an instructor the whole time so no previous experience is necessary and we will provide all the equipment you need.
If you are more familiar with group exercise classes, then the brand new ROCKFIT programme will be of interest. Currently running at our Alton, Crawley, Elmbridge and West 1 sites, ROCKFIT is the latest group exercise class to increase core strength, flexibility and upper body. Each session lasts for 1 hour.
