Kids General Climbing.

For uninstructed climbing, all kids under the age of 13 will need to be supervised by an experienced adult. One experienced adult can supervise a maximum of two children or novices.

It is possible for competent climbers aged 14 and above to climb unsupervised if the child AND parent/guardian have attended the relevant Youth Climbing Assessment (YCA).

For more information on the YCA please follow the link below.

Those 14 and above who are not competent climbers will need be supervised.

If you are confident that you meet the requirements to supervise novice climbers and have filled out the relevant forms, then there is no need to book in advance and you can just turn up. We recommend you fill these forms out before arriving to save on time, but it is also possible to complete them on the day. For more information on supervising and links to these forms please click the link below.

If you are NOT an experienced climber and wish to supervise children or novices you will need to gain experience in these areas in the following ways before being allowed to supervise:

Auto Belays (so that they can access our ‘RockBox’ area designed for younger years) - We will require you to take our Auto Belay Induction.

Top Roping - You will need to have completed our Beginners Course and completed the Safety Test before being allowed to supervise.

Bouldering - You will need to have watched our Bouldering Safety video and filled out the Acknowledgement of Risk form. You will also be limited to just the downstairs bouldering area during your visit.
